We drove from Bishkek to Karakol to see the eastern part of Kyrgyzstan. Jeti-gz is a so called balneotherapic resort located at the northern slope of Teskey Ala-Too mountain range near Issyk Kul in the Jeti-Oguz District of Issyk Kul Province of Kyrgyzstan, about 28 km west of Karakol.

The thermal springs of Jeti-gz were known to local inhabitants since antiquity. The place became known to Europe in 1856 when Semenov-Tian-Shanskii first visited it. The resort has been operated all year-round since 1965. In 1991, an important meeting between Boris Yeltsin and Askar Akayev took place in Jeti-gz.

The place is very old and terribly aged, however still in use. We could stay there for a comparatively high rate, but though not specificly good, the experience was one not to be forgotten soon.

Many Kyrgyz people visit this resort, as well as foreign tourists, also because of the nearby Jeti-gz Rocks. A hike or ride on horse-back of several hours brings you to a waterfall located in a gully, as well as a pine-tree plantation. This is a popular trek for tourists and visitors.
